You’ve Gotta Be Kiddin’ Me

I don’t get kids in Korea.  Then again, I don’t get adults in Korea either.  I guess people sit outside the elementary schools and sell little baby chicks to the kids.  What’s even worse, they charge between 500 and 1000 Won (that’s between 36 and 73 cents according to today’s exchange rate).  You’ve gotta be kidding me.  The kids bring them into school.  There are a few foreign teachers that take them off the kids and put them safely in copy paper boxes for the time the kids are at Little Campus.  I don’t blame them.  I’ve never had a kid bring one into my class, but I’d do the same.

This was taken yesterday.  I wouldn’t be surprised if this little guy (gal?) is dead by now.  What a horrible life to have.  This little one was so stressed out that he (she) was peeping constantly.  I held him (her) in my cupped hands and almost immediately he (she) settled down and went to sleep.

Ugh, I get upset just thinking about it.
